Straight answers

Questions, answered.

What exactly is a writ of mandamus?
It's a lawsuit in federal court that asks a judge to order a government agency to make a decision on your long-pending application. It doesn't ask the court to approve you — it forces the agency to stop sitting on your case and actually rule. In practice, agencies very often adjudicate the case soon after being sued.
How long before my case moves?
We typically prepare, file, and serve within days of receiving your documents. After service, the government has 60 days to respond — and many cases are decided during that window. Every deadline is tracked for you automatically.
Will suing USCIS hurt my application?
A mandamus action asks only that the agency decide your case — it's a routine, widely used remedy for unreasonable delay and does not penalize applicants for filing. Brandy will walk you through exactly how it applies to your situation before you commit.
Do you guarantee I'll win?
No ethical lawyer can guarantee an outcome, and we won't. What we offer is a strong track record, a proven process, and an honest assessment of your case up front — if we don't think mandamus is right for you, we'll tell you.
Who actually handles my case?
Brandy does. She's a licensed attorney admitted in NY, CA, and DC, and she personally reviews, finalizes, and signs your complaint before it's filed. Her efficient, streamlined process keeps everything moving fast — with an experienced attorney responsible at every step.
What does the $3,000 cover, and what's separate?
The flat $3,000 covers everything LYD Law does: intake, evidence collection, jurisdiction analysis, drafting, filing, service by certified mail, and tracking. The only separate cost is the court's own filing fee (≈ $405), paid directly to the court.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. Your documents — including sensitive identifiers like your A-number — are encrypted in transit and at rest, access-controlled, and protected by attorney-client confidentiality.

Stop waiting.
Make them decide.

Tell us about your case. Brandy's team will review it and respond within 24 hours — usually much sooner. No obligation, no pressure.
